Mac ဖောင့် beta ထုတ်ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
QT/KDE အတွက် Harfbuzz မှာလုပ်နေကြတာ တော်တော်လေးပြီးနေပါပြီ။
Sourceforge မှာ bug tracking နဲ့ git repositry လုပ်ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဝက်ဘ်ဆိုက်လေး သေချာပြန်ရေးချင်တာတော့မစဖြစ်သေးပါဘူး။
အခုနောက်ဆုံး Lightweight Desktop Environment စမ်းဖြစ်တာလေးရေးပါမယ်။ LXDE ပါ။ အရင်ကတည်းက LDE တွေ ကြုံရင်ကြုံသလို စမ်းဖြစ်ပေမယ့် ပေါ့အောင်ရေးထားကြတာဆိုတော့ ယူနီကုဒ် ကို အပြည့်အဝ မထောက်ပံ့သလို ပန်ဂိုလည်း များသောအားဖြင့် မသုံးကြပါဘူး။

တနေ့က LXDE ကိုကြည့်တော့ ပန်ဂိုသုံးထားတာတွေ့တာနဲ့ Fedora မှာ စမ်းတာ အားလုံးအဆင်ပြေပါတယ်။ တခြား Distribution မှာ Gnome မတင်ဘဲစမ်းချင်တာ အစတော့ Gentoo သုံးမလို့၊ Compile လုပ်ရမှာပျင်းတာနဲ့ Debian ပဲ သုံးဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ Debian wheezy/sid ပါ။ Living on the bleeding edge ပေါ့။ အောက်မှာ myanmar locale တင်ပြီးတော့ စာလုံးစဉ်တာ စမ်းထားတဲ့ပုံလေးပါ။ lxterminal ကတော့ ထုံးစံအတိုင်း အမှန်မပေါ်ပါဘူး။ အခု ပို့စ်ရေးနေတာ Iceweasel နဲ့ scim-waitzar နဲ့ပါ။

ReplyDeleteI am a (relatively) newbie Linux user (who used Ubuntu heavily for PostgreSQL, PostGIS servers plus java and C/C++ development as well as writing papers etc in LaTeX).
Writing in LaTeX is very convenient and, since I also like to write books (Myanmar novels, short stories, programming tutorials etc), I tried to use LaTeX for typesetting my Myanmar books. LaTeX won't support any 16 bit fonts. So, I use XeTeX (chinese version), which support 16 bit fonts.
Not so good up until now. However, I know exactly that once, a Linux Unicode Myanmar standard is stable enough, we can typeset books in XeTeX.
So, here is my message for you : you are doing good things and keep it up. We are encouraging you.

ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with LaTeX typesetting but I know XeTeX support unicode and AAT on Mac OS X and intend to try. Masterpiece Uni Sans is also available now with AAT support as beta version.
May I know your setup and would like to give it a try.
