Android ICS and Myanmar Unicode

  7. Nope. Have to replace with roboto.ttf. Not the old DroidSansFallback.ttf in ICS. If your phone is rooted Just change zawgyi to roboto.ttf and replace the original roboto.ttf in system fonts folder should do. But the font rendering is still mis-place (radable). For internet download firefox. That is better compare to built-in browser. I mean better readable myanmar language on internet. Another one more thing is you can read and write in any note or quick office. The notification are correct. Only you read in full the character mis placing occur. Enjoy!

This is due to built-in shaping engine in webkit of android starting from ICS. In correct encoding of Unicode, vowel e must follow consonant. So, in the case of word, စနေ, you will see it as စေန, as shaping engine will do re-ordering automatically taking vowel e belongs to consonant ca in front. This will also apply to nga + asat case if it is followed by consonant, it will be reordered as kinzi after the following consonant.
